Christian was born on March 3, 1846 in the village of Johannestal in the Beresan district of the Odessa area and Black Sea region of South Russia to Georg Adam Auch and Barbara (Hetzel) Auch. He was baptized on March 10, 1846.[1][2]
Family
On January 3, 1866, at the age of 19, Christian married Rosina Delzer (1845-1916) in Johannestal.[2]
Rosina (1881-1975): Married August Bauer (1879-1941), 8 children.
John (1885-1955): Married Lydia Schoppert (1895-1976), 6 children.
Anna Magdalena (1887-1966): Married John Redlinger (1886-1976), 11 children.
Emanuel (1891-1965): Married Salamina Schoppert (1892-1966), 10 children.
Immigration
On July 23, 1873, at the age of 27, Christian, his wife, and 3 children arrived in New York aboard the S.S. Westphalia traveling from Hamburg, Germany.[3][2]
Death
On May 20, 1934, at the age of 88, Christian passed away in Menno, SD. He is buried in Johannestal Cemetery in Menno.[4][2][5]
