James married in 1480 placing his birth prior to 8 May 1466.
The death was noted as occuring after 1483 but from what source it is not known. He is noted as having been deceased when a grant of the ward of the lands was granted to Sir WIlliam Douglas of Glenvervie in 1492[1] so one can be certain his death preceded that grant.
