James was born in 1761, son of Alexander Auchterlonie and Helen Rollo. Christening Feb 28, 1761 at Leuchars, Fife, Scotland, names parents Alexander Aughterlony and Helen Rollo. [1]
He married Elizabeth Louden in 1783. [2]
