Research Note

In the sources section there is a citation of Milton P. & Norma Gaudet Rieder, THE ACADIANS IN FRANCE, which notes that Olivier boarded the ship L'Ambition from Southampton England to France. He seems to have been confused with another Olivier Aucoin (abt.1726-1813). There was only one Olivier Aucoin on L'Ambition which sailed on 16 May 1763. http://www.acadian-home.org/france-lambition.html. There was only one voyage for L'Ambition noted by Paul Delaney, in his Chronology of deportations and migrations, http://www.acadian-home.org/Paul-Delaney-Chronology.html

Two different Olivier Aucoins if on both the 1763 list in Pennsylvania and also on l'Ambition, which sailed from England to St. Malo in 1763. Or was his family divided and his wife without him in Pennsylvania?

Good question! The source for the profile is mainly from the research of Karen Theriot Reader. The bit about the l'Ambition is from her notes with a question so that should be made clearer in the biography or even moved to a research section at this point. I am looking for a second Olivier Aucoin.

Probably belongs to this man but still looking. https://gw.geneanet.org/katheriot?lang=en&pz=frederick+joseph&nz=theriot&ocz=1&p=olivier&n=aucoin&oc=1

Ok, looks like this is the correct man for that particular note: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Aucoin-326

Hi Stephanie. I added a research note. There is no evidence of this Olivier, his wife or children of being deported to Europe.
