Marie Jeanne Aucoin migrated from France to Louisiana.
Marie Jeanne Aucoin is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, at Plaque 11 R. [1]
She was the first child of Jean Baptiste Aucoin and Marie Marguerite Forêt, born at Saint-Servan, Bretagne, France, near Saint-Malo, on 13 February 1785. [citation needed] Later that year her family immigrated to the Spanish-ruled colony of Louisiana, arriving at the port of New Orleans on December 3, 1785. She and her parents were passengers aboard La Ville d'Arcangel. [1]
She grew up in Louisiana, where she met and married Antoine Bellard at the Opelosas Post in 1802.[2]
