Biography

Jean-Baptiste was born on November 17, 1675 and baptized on 1 Dec 1675, in Sainte-Famille, Île d'Orléans, Canada, Nouvelle-France, son of Nicolas Audet and Madeleine Després. His godparents were Jean Jouanne & Marie Champion. [1]

He married Marie Louise Godbout, daughter of Nicolas Godbou & Angelique-Marguerite Lemelin, on April 16, 1708, in Saint-Laurent, Île d'Orleans, Canada, Nouvelle-France. [2]

He died on 12 Nov 1728, found drowned next to his canoe in the Petite Riviere Maheu, while preparing for a trip to Quebec city. He was buried on 13 Nov 1728 at Saint-Jean, Île d'Orléans, Canada, Nouvelle-France.[3]
