Sir James Audley, 2nd Lord Audley was born on 7 January 1314 at Kneesal, Nottinghamshire, England.[3]

He married Joan de Mortimer, daughter of Sir Roger de Mortimer, 1st Earl March, 8th Baron Mortimer and Joan de Geneville, before 13 June 1330.[4]

They had 2 sons (Sir Nicholas, 3rd Lord Audley; & Sir Roger) and 3 daughters (Joan, wife of Sir John Tuchet; Margaret, wife of Sir Roger Hillary; & Katherine, wife of Thomas de Spigurnell).[5]

A settlement for the marriage Sir James Audley, 2nd Lord Audley and Isabel FitzWalter was made before 1346.[6]

They had 4 sons (Sir Thomas; Oliver Roland; & Sir James) and 1 daughter (Blanche, wife of Sir Fulk FitzWarin, 4th Lord FitzWarin).[7]

Sir James Audley, 2nd Lord Audley left a will in 1385.

He died on 1 April 1386 at Heleigh in Audley, Staffordshire, England, at age 72; Buried at Hulton Abbey, Staffordshire.[8]
