Biography

Hyman was born about 1918 and lived in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States with his parents Nathan and Fanny.[1] Between 1920 and 1930, two of his father's cosuins, Abraham and Dora Auerbach, arrived from Russia and lived with the family.[2]

Hyman's mother died between 1930 and 1940, after which Hyman and his father were lodgers in another household.[3]

Notes

There are two Hyman Auerbach's in the NY census records for 1920, 1930, and 1940 and, adding to confusion, both have fathers named Nathan and mothers named Jennie, Jannie, or Fannie, with all parents within 5 years of the same age. A future death year was entered in order to be able to open the profile, in the hope that a family member of this person or a more experienced genealogist who can do it better justice will "adopt" it, but the originally estimated birth year of 1918 has been changed to 1917 in order to remove the "before 2099" death date which some members misinterpreted as suggesting that Hyman was expected to live until then.[4]

Gaile,

The error on this profile is going to persist until you remove the future date from the profile. Since 2099 hasn't happened, it isn't a valid date to enter as a death date. We are currently doing a Spring Clean-a-thon to clear out the database errors. I understand you don't like be pestered, I can assure you, no one cleaning the errors likes to encounter the same error time after time either. If the person this profile represents is still living, please remove the death date entirely. If the person is deceased, then enter the known date OR enter "before 2017" so that the date is no longer in the future and stops populating the weekly error report.

We all appreciate some flexibility here.

I see your note about the death date, but please consider removing the death of death instead of using a future date. That will allow you to share the known facts and resolve the error. Everyone will be happy.  :)

Attention: Database Error Zealots

Please stop pestering me about this profile's death date unless you have more precise information than is currently there.

Thank you.
