Biography

Albert Schlonaker Augspurger was born in Butler County, Ohio on 23 May 1875. He was a son of Moses G. Augspurger and Anna Schlonaker.[1][2][3]

Albert Augspurger first appeared in the household of his father for the 1880 U.S. Census at Madison Township, Butler County. He was recorded as 5 years old and born in Ohio. He was living with his parents, his sister Alma and one laborer, Johnson Nofsinger.[4]

Albert married Ella Mosiman in Butler County on 3 September 1896.[5]

By June of 1900 Albert had moved his family to Morton Township, Tazewell County, Illinois, where he was listed in the census there as a 25 year old laborer, born in Ohio in May of 1875. He had been married four years, and was able to read and write. He was living in a rented house with his wife and two sons.[6]

Albert and Ella had moved back to Madison Township, Butler County, Ohio for the 1920 census, where Albert appeared as a 44 year old farmer born in Ohio, and was living on a rented farm with his wife and three daughters.[7]

Ella Mosiman Augspurger died in August of 1939.[8]

In the 1940 census at Trenton, Madison Township, A.S. Augspurger was listed as 64 years old and widowed. The highest grade he had completed in school was recorded as 4. He was living in a home he owned valued at $3200 with his daughter Anna O. and his son Robert.[9]

Albert Augspurger died in Trenton on 21 March 1942. He shares a headstone with his wife Ella at Trenton Mennonite Cemetery, Trenton, Butler County, Ohio.[1]
