Emanuel was born in 1878 to Solomon Aukerman (1845–1908) and Elizabeth Baker Aukerman (1850–1931), who are buried together in Miller Grove German Baptist Church Cemetery, Palestine, Darke County, Ohio.
Emanuel Aukerman, 93, 800 E. Main St., Eaton, died early Sunday morning at Grandview Hospital, Dayton, after a lingering illness. He was a retired Lanier Township farmer, a member of the Upper Twin German Baptist Chruch and a resident of Preble County for 66 years.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maggie (Miller) Aukerman; a son, Willard of R.R. 3, West Alexandria; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Filbrun of RR. 1, West Alexandria; a sister, Mrs. Ada Mohler and a brother, Irvin Aukerman, both of Greenville; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Aukerman were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Upper Twin German Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery at Gratis.
