Aulds Chapel and Cemetery

Aulds Chapel is a small Chapel with cemetery in Downesville, Louisiana. The cemetery is home to several Aulds that lived in that area. After a request from my Dad, I was able to connect a friend of ours with the last name"Aulds" to our own "Auld" line.

With his information, I learned of the Aulds Chapel and of the Aulds that were buried there. Please visit the Aulds Chapel to learn more about it.

You can also visit the Category page for the Aulds Chapel Cemetery to see which profiles are buried there: Category: Aulds Chapel Cemetery, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana

The High Church of Glasgow

Also known as the Glasgow Cathedral, some of my ancestors were christened in this church so I made a Wikitree Space Page for it: Glasgow Cathedral - The High Church of Glasgow

Remember The Children

I do not run the Remember The Children Page, but it is an amazing way to mark children who have died young as well as Mothers who died as a result of Childbirth here on WikiTree. There are great photo placeholders that can be added for each child type, as well as stickers to add to those profiles. I think this is a beautiful memorial to the children and mothers who passed in our trees.

Biography

Chuck Auld was born in Japan to parents of American citizenship.
Scottish flag
Chuck Auld has Scottish Ancestors.

Charles "Chuck" Auld was born on September, 15, 1971 in Okinawa, Japan at Camp Kue US Army Hospital, the son of an enlisted naval man and his wife. Chuck returned with his parents to the US and to Pensacola, FL, then to Syracuse, NY, and to Fort Benjamin Harrison US Army Base in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In June, 1981, his father moved them to Naples, Italy, for four years. Afterwards, his father was stationed back to the states and to Virginia, where his father retired from the Navy while living in Dale City, VA. Chuck continued moving around the country, as staying in one location for more than a few years gave him an itch to pick up and move as he did through his entire childhood.

In 1994, he moved to Sunshine, FL, to stay with his brother for 10 months before moving back to Dale City, VA, until 1997 when he moved to Columbus, OH, to live with his fiance Misty McKee. They have had four children together and she has two children from a previous marriage.

He and his wife continued to move constantly within Ohio, living in 8 different houses from 1997 to 2014. A flood in 2014 caused them to lose everything they owned and they left Ohio for Texas in February of 2014. Staying in Texas for only two weeks, they bought an RV and traveled to Florida. The RV allows the family to move around as much as they want without having to change houses.

Chuck is currently living with his wife and four youngest children in Polk County, Florida.(2019) [1]

Hi Chuck, you he!ped me solve mystery of my great grandmother Rebecca Emily Ward (Cushing). My cousin sent me copies of emails from a cousin named Dale. He had marriage certificate of Rebecca Ard and CP Ward, according to email they married 1887. He doesn't mention where they wed. Assuming florida.

I am so glad you found the marriage certificate. We have her listed as out of wedlock in the bio. So when he moved back to Alabama, they must have divorced. Great extra detail!

Thanks Chuck for working on this. I would hope that he served in the war. Please keep me informed.

Hi Chuck, I noticed Joseph Felix Grundy Hargis has a notice of being a Sargent in the CSA. I have never found any records or proof he served in the Civil War. I have a document showing he signed the Reconstruction Oath in Claiborne Parish LA on 12 Oct, 1868.

Did you attach this banner? If so i would like to know the source of his service in the CSA. Thanks, Ray Hargis

Hi Ray,

I see nothing on the profile that would indicate he had service in the sources, and I would have put that source in the profile in order to make that sticker that is on there. I honestly do not know. That could have occurred when the merge took place, or added later. I have not been on Wikitree for most of 2020, so wasn't on in April 2020 when the last changed occurred.

I would love to know the source on that sticker as well!

I did some more digging of Joseph Hargis' and there is a Joseph C Hargis that served in the Civil War, Born in TN and died in Missouri. That is the closest I could find though. That is just so weird.

Ray,

I am checking directly with the LA group that runs the 31st Reg Civil War group to see if he is on their roles. That should give us a definitive answer pretty quick. If he is not on the roles, I will remove that sticker. If he IS on it, I will ask for the info to add as a source.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for our ancestors!

Chuck, the second reference for Daniel Knight with his mother Jerusha is correct, but the connection made to Boothbay, Maine I still believe is incorrect. The key is in Daniel's father's information. There is no reference to Woburn, his wife Jerusha, or the move to Worcester, where all their children are born, including the contested Daniel "Jr." of which we are corresponding.

There is a common issue when tracing the Knight line between several different Knight families that immigrated around the same time in the early 1700s. The text in the Boothbay reference points to Daniel's father as a decedent of John Knight of Newbury, while this Daniel's father is a decedent of John Knight of Charlestown/Watertown, born to Nicholas Knight of Romsey, England. I will be adding additional references over the next several days to back up my point.

Greetings Chuck. I believe the edits you made for Daniel Knight are incorrect. Could you please provide your sources for the conclusions you made? He is my 6th great-grandfather, and after 20+ years of research into my Knight line I have never came across the facts you have entered.

Best regards.

Hi Chuck! You may want to check out Francis Byron Greene's book "History of Boothbay, Southport and Boothbay Harbor, Maine." It has a lot of detailed information about the Auld family of Boothbay. You can find it on archive.org in its entirety.

posted by Jocelyn Young

Chuck Auld, I found the mother of John McCullough Young, she is Martha Simons. Archibald Young has M. as middle initial. It could stand for McCullough or McColough. Parents of Archibald are from Ireland
