William Henry Auld was born to Elizabeth Pye and William Auld in Bannockburn on 3 August 1861, and although William gave a later year of birth on census forms, his gravestone says b. 1860.
He farmed next to his father in 1891. [1]
He had brothers Charles and Samuel. Besides his widow, formerly Rebecca McFadyen of Kingston, he was survived by one son Allison and one daughter, Mrs John C. McNevin (Edna Rebecca).
