Crozier, Lena Dec 16 1985 funeral services for Lena Crozier 91, a longtime Anita resident, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Roland Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Young of St John's Lutheran Church of Audubon officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery near Anita . Mrs. Crozier died Friday morning at her home in Anita. The daughter of John and Caroline Heckman Aupperle she was born Jan 27 1894, in Audubon Co., and the family moved when she was a child to Adair Co.,. She attended a German Lutheran School south of Adair and area rural schools.
She was baptized in St John's Lutheran Church northwest of Adair April 28, 1894, and was confirmed in the Immune Lutheran Church in Adair April 12,1908.
Her marriage to Byron D Crozier took place May 28, 1919, in Atlantic and they farmed in Lincoln Township until moving to Anita in 1962. Mrs. Crozier was a member of the Holy Cross Luthe ran Church in Adair.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Ralph L Crozier and his wife, Virginia, of Adair, Leonard Crozier and his wife, Betty, of Bridgewater;10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Newcomb of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Gerald (Dora) Beatty of Prescott, Mrs. Robert Esther Johnson of St George, Utah, and Mrs. Paul Edith Czar of Pittsburg Mo. Also surviving are a brother in law, Worth Chastain of Adair; four sisters in law, Mrs. Minnie Aupperle of Cumberland, Mrs. Ellen Aupperle of Massena, Mrs. Evelyn Aupperle of North Platte NE and Mrs. Petty Aupperle of Arcata Calif.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Herman, Louis,Oscar, John, Arthur and Charles Aupperle; a brother in infancy; two sisters, Anna Aupperle and Mary Chastain; and a grand daughter Carol Kay Crozier.
