Die doopregister toon Dorothea Sophia Ausserhoffer as getuie. Sy is Maria se tweede-oudste suster, wat 11 years oud was, nie ousus Maria Dorothea nie. Hoekom nie?

Ons weet uit Sophia Zeeman se sterfkenns dat Maria Dorothea reeds voor 1844 oorlede moes wees, want die ander kinders is mooi in volgorde van ouderdom met Dorothea as oudste oorlewende. Sy is heel moontlik reeds as baba oorlede, maar dis ondenkbaar dat as sy in 1821 nog gelewe het, 'n jonger suster voorkeur sou kry (al die vorige kinders het volwasse getuies).
