In 1851 David Aust (age 41, Ag Lab) lived in Colerne with his wife Ann (37, Seamstress) and two daughters: Elizabeth (9, Scholar) and Mary (1).[5]
In 1861 David Aust (age 52, Ag Lab) lived in Colerne with his wife Ann (47, Dressmaker) and daughter Mary Ann (11, Scholar).[6]
In 1871 David Aust (age 63, Ag Lab) lived at Chappel Yard in Colerne with his wife Ann (57) and grandson James Gibbons (7).[7]
In 1881 David Aust (age 73, Agricl Labourer) lived at Chapel Yard in Colerne with his wife Anne (67) and boarder Charlotte Aust (65).[8] [Note: Charlotte Aust is listed as married on this census, but she was single on the next one - she is actually Ann's unmarried sister.]
David Aust passed away in 1886, aged 77 years - his death was registered in Chippenham, Wiltshire in the first quarter of the year.[9]
