Biography

Amos Henry Aust was born in 1874 in Colerne, Wiltshire, England to Alfred Aust and Rhoda (Butler) Aust. His birth was registered in Chippenham, Wiltshire in the second quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Butler.^[1]

In 1881 Amos H Aust (age 7, Scholar) lived at Moon Close in Colerne with his father Alfred (31, Stone Mason), mother Rodha (34), sister Ann E (1), and grandfather George Aust (69, Farm Lab).^[2]

In 1891 Amos H Aust (age 17, Mason) lived at Bath Road in Colerne with his father Alfred (41, Mason), mother Rhoda (44), and two sisters: Ann E (11, Scholar) and Henrietta T (9, Scholar), as well as his grandfather George Aust (79, Living on his Own Means).^[3]

In 1901 Amos H Aust (age 27, Stonemason) was a boarder at Circus Street in Cowley, Oxfordshire in the household of Thomas Clarke.^[4]

Amos Henry Aust married Emily Ann Winkfield in 1903. The marriage was registered in Wallingford, Berkshire in the last quarter of the year.^[5]
