Celia Amelia “Milly” Austin, daughter of John Gideon Austin and Susan Elizabeth Jones, was born in about 1835 in Forsyth County, Georgia. In 1850, she was living in the house hold of her father and was sixteen years old.[1] In the late 1850s, she moved with her family to Van Wert in Polk County, Georgia. She was still at home at the time of the 1860 census and was listed as being twenty-three years old.[2] She had a daughter, Vina Caroline Millwee, who was born in 1868. As Milly is not listed on the 1869 mortality schedule or the 1870 census, she may have died giving birth. She is buried in Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Polk County, Georgia, without a marker.
