Selina Caroline Austin - the family was quite wealthy. She had her own governess when she was young. Her father was in the furniture business and was very successful until he started hitting the bottle and making some poor decisions and he lost a lot of money. She had Joan, her daughter, who didn't recognise Arthur, her dad, when he returned from the war. During the war, Selina had many officers billet at her house. (Carol Cook)
