Biography

Elizabeth Austin was born 12 Jun 1642 in Stone, Staffordshire, England. She was the daughter of Johannis Austin (abt.1620-). She emigrated to the English colony of Virginia in 1663 - 1679[1], married and had a son, Joshua Hightower Jr. (1670-1726), in Virginia in 1670. Her husband, Joshua Hightower Sr. (abt.1643-1698), whom she married either in England in the 1660s or in Virginia (no records have been found), was also from Staffordshire, England.[2]

Elizabeth and Joshua Hightower Sr.'s son:
Joshua Hightower Jr. (1670-1726): born on 1 Jan. 1670, in North Farnham Parish, old Rappahannock County, Virginia. In 1692 its name was changed to Richmond County, Virginia.

It is said that Elizabeth survived the death of her husband in 1698 and lived with her son, Joshua Jr. and his family, until her death around 1720, in Richmond County, Virginia (Please do not confuse with the city of Richmond, which was in Henrico County).[2]

Austin-3988 and Austin-2437 appear to represent the same person because: they are the same woman; daughter of Johannis Austin and wife of Joshua Hightower Sr. in Virginia. Please merge today.

Austin-3988 and Austin-2437 do not represent the same person because: The Elizabeth Hightower listed is belkieed to be the dau of Joshua Hightower.

The profile of Austin-3988, which you manage, says that Elizabeth is the daughter of Johannis Austin and the wife of Joshua Hightower. If we discard the reference to Laurel Co., Kentucky, there is no inconsistency between the two profiles. It is highly unlikely that Johannis Austin had two daughters with the same name who lived into adulthood.

Sorry, I was confused and the Kentucky 1720 was also a problem. With that deleted, I would approve the merge.

Colony, Laurel, Kentucky, United States is an erroneous location for this person's life events. It apparently was added when somebody's software autocompleted a manual entry like "Colony." Do not pay any attention to this location.
