Elizabeth Austin was born 12 Jun 1642 in Stone, Staffordshire, England. She was the daughter of Johannis Austin (abt.1620-). She emigrated to the English colony of Virginia in 1663 - 1679[1], married and had a son, Joshua Hightower Jr. (1670-1726), in Virginia in 1670. Her husband, Joshua Hightower Sr. (abt.1643-1698), whom she married either in England in the 1660s or in Virginia (no records have been found), was also from Staffordshire, England.[2]
It is said that Elizabeth survived the death of her husband in 1698 and lived with her son, Joshua Jr. and his family, until her death around 1720, in Richmond County, Virginia (Please do not confuse with the city of Richmond, which was in Henrico County).[2]
She was christened at birth on 12 Jun 1642 in Stone, Staffordshire, England[4]
She died about 1720 in colonial Virginia[5]
