Biography

On 29th April 1839, Abel married Charlotte Dyer in Gloucester St Michael, Gloucestershire. Both were of full age. Abel was a mason, as was his father William Austin. Charlotte's father Benjamin Dyer was a labourer. The witnesses were John Selman and Mary Ann, while both parties signed their names[1].

In 1841, 35 year old Abel lived in Cawston, Norfolk, with Charlotte and baby Reuben. His occupation was stone mason. Neither Abel nor Charlotte were born in Norfolk[2].

In 1851, 48 year old Abel lived in St Thomas, Oxford, Oxfordshire, with his family[3].
