DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benoni by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benoni:
Benoni Austin himself said his grandfather was Alexander or Wamsutta . According to the history of Monmouth Maine on page 32 that's good enough for me, Ill take his word for it !
There is no proof of "laughing water" There was a child born to Wamsutta and Weetomo, but no record of the child's name. This Benoni also shows up as being born in 1700 and whose father is likely William Autin and mother Elizabeth Austin.
Austin-7698 and Austin-84 appear to represent the same person because: These 2 Benoni Austins are a match, b 1709 Biddeford, Maine, mar. Mercy Thompson.
