He married first Hanna Lee 10 Apr 1791, she died 8 Dec 1799. They had 5 children.[2]
David married second Mercy Slade 6 Apr 1800.[2] They had 5 children.
Came here (Hartford) and hewed him a home out of this town when it was a wilderness, going miles to mill on horseback, finding his way by marked trees; has many times driven bears out of his cornfield. He was involved politically for many years including Supervisor of Hartford, member of the Assembly and Master of Chancery 1811-16.[2]
He passed away in 1835. He is buried at Old Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, Washington County, New York.[3]
