"Mr. Autry was born April 16, 1921 in Blanket, the son of Roy A. Autry Sr. and Cecil Parker Autry. He grew up in Cross Plains and Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. He served in the United States Army, in the 552nd Battalion and received five Battle Stars. He married Martha Jean Harwell on April 14, 1946 in Coleman. He was the co-publisher of the Coleman Chronicle and Democrat-Voice with his brother, Milton Autry, for 34 years, was a board member of the Coleman Country Club and a member of the First Baptist Church.
"Mr. Autry is survived by his wife, Martha Autry of Coleman; two daughters and son-in-law, Alana and Stan Brudney of Coleman, Tracy Autry of Coleman; one son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Barbara Autry of Coleman; one sister, Othrene Steffens of Brady; four grandchildren, Brice Brudney and Beau Brudney both of Coleman; Leah Autry of Ft. Worth, Evan Autry of Austin; four great-grandchildren, Shi Brudney of Coleman, Brianna Brudney of Abilene, Madison Brudney and Blake Brudney both of Coleman and several nieces and nephews.
"He was preceded in death by his brother, Milton Autry and his parents.
