Josephine A. Restivo, 89, formerly of Upper Yoder Township, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, in Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born Feb. 9, 1920, in Greensburg, she was a daughter of Carmel Jr. and Josephine (Manganello) Avampato. She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Charles J. Restivo; infant son, Charles Restivo; great-grandson, Antonio Fabrizio; and a sister, Sally Calabrese. She is survived by beloved daughters, Patricia "Patti," wife of John Kristoff, and Charlotte, wife of Douglas Kleman, both of Johnstown. She was the devoted and beloved "Nanna" to grandchildren, Jessica Crum Parshall and husband, William, of Johnstown, Angela Crum and fiance, Jess Loflin, of Oregon, and Charles and Emily Kleman, of Johnstown; stepgrandchildren, Matthew and Mark Kristoff; and great-grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Parshall. Also survived by her brother, Joseph Avampato, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Seton Hill College. She taught music at Southwest Greensburg Junior High. She was a member of St. Clement Church and also sang in the choir. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the MOSKAL & KENNEDY COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, Ohio Street and Highland Avenue, Johnstown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Clement Church with Father William E. Rosenbaum as celebrant. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, Cambria County Branch, Memorial Medical Center, 1086 Franklin St., Johnstown, PA 15902.
