Biography

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese professional footballer. He plays as a forward for Premier League and captains the Portugal national team. He was chosen as the world's best soccer player by FIFA, and won almost every available award with his team.

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on the 5th of February 1985 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.^[1] His father was José Dinis Aveiro and his mother Maria Dolores dos Santos Viveiros da Aveiro.^[2] Cristiano had three siblings; a brother and two sisters.^[2] His father died when he was twenty years old.^[1]

At the age of fourteen, Cristiano started playing football.^[2] He began his career with "Sporting CP," and then signed with "Manchester United" in 2003, at the age of eighteen.^[1]

Cristiano never married but is the father of four children from two mothers. This includes twin girls, born in 2017.^[2]

Ethnicity

Cristiano was born in Madeira, in Portugal. His grandmother, said to be very poor, migrated to Madeira from Cape Verde, looking for job opportunities. His great-grandmother, Rosa Isabel da Piedade, was born on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde.^[3]
