Rebecca Averill was born, probably in that part of Machias, Maine, later set off as Marshfield, c1806, ^[1] the daughter of Joseph Averill and Dolly Fogg; ^[2] married at Cooper, Maine, 21 Jul 1822, William McPheters, ^[3] born at Orono, Maine, 15 Aug 1799, the son of William McPheters and Esther Ayers.
