Biography

This Hannah Avery was a daughter (6th child) of Samuel Avery and Elizabeth Rainsford. She was baptized 29 Jun 1718 @ First Church, New London, Connecticut.

She married 27 May 1731 at Groton, Connecticut, Samuel Allyn (1704-1762). They had 12 children:

  1. Hannah (Allyn) Lamb (1732-1820); married James Lamb
  2. Samuel Allyn (1734-1781); married Mary Wood
  3. Eunice (Allyn) Wood (1737-1832); married John Wood
  4. Esther (Allyn) Miner (1739-1826); married Jonathan Ransford Miner
  5. Stephen Allyn (1741-); married ___ French
  6. Tryal Allyn (1744-1814); married Mary Morgan
  7. Thomas Allyn (1746-1828); married Bathsheba Stoddard
  8. Lucy (Allyn) Stoddard (1748-1831); married Mark Stoddard
  9. Prudence (Allyn) Turner (1751-1834); married Amos Turner
  10. Elizabeth (Allyn) Smith (1753-1838); married Richard Smith
  11. Deborah (Allyn) Spring (1755-); married 1) John Wiley; 2) ___ Spring
  12. Thankful (Allyn) Turner (1762-1839); married Amos Tuner, nephew of the Amos Turner who was the spouse of Thankful's sister Prudence

Per the Avery genealogy, as stated in The Groton Avery Clan, "the date of her death has not been ascertained" but she died after February 1762 because she outlived her husband, Samuel Allyn.
