Austin Avery was born on 19 Dec 1882 in Le Flore, Oklahoma to parents Charles McCloud Avery and Mary Jane Polk Hickman. He married Bessie Lena Self on 7 Dec 1908 in Sebastian, Arkansas. Children: Buford Oca, Buelah, Charles Raleigh, Earl Clarence. He died on 31 May 1959 in Riverside, California.
