Charles Grandison Avery was born 09 Apr 1796 at Stonington, Connecticut, the 5th child (son) of Stephen & Anna (Wheeler) Avery.

Note: This person is not the Charles Grandison Avery who enlisted in the Union Army, Aug. 2, 1862, and died of wounds received in the battle of Drury's Bluff, Va., July 21, 1864. That Charles Grandison Avery was this person's son.

This Charles Grandison Avery was a farmer in North Stonington, Connecticut. He and his wife, Ede Denison Wheeler, had 6 children:
