Biography

This Abigail Avery, born 23 Mar 1796 at Brandon, Vermont, was the second child (daughter) of Eunice (Weeks) Avery (1769-1851) and Daniel Avery (1768-1851).

She married first Jonathan Shepherd on 15 Sep 1815 at Brandon, Rutland, Vermont. They had one child who survived to adulthood:

  1. Jonathan Avery, b. 26 Aug 1816 @ Brandon, Vermont; married Evelyn Turner; Episcopal minister and teacher

Abigail and Jonathan Shepherd also had other children who died in infancy.

This family moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where Jonathan died, 24 Aug 1825.

Abigail returned to the United States, and married Stephen Hall on 7 Oct 1832 at Brandon, Rutland, Vermont.

Abigail (Avery) (Shepherd) Hall died 16 Dec 1862 at Brandon, Vermont, and was buried in Congregational Church Cemetery, Brandon, Rutland, Vermont [1].
