Biography
Ashbel Stevens Avery, the second child of Abraham Avery (abt.1744-1817) and Rebecca (Stevens) Avery (1748-abt.1792), was born on on 8 May 1775 at Montville, Connecticut [1].
He married Eunice Allen on 23 Oct. 1800 at Beckett, Massachusetts.[1] They had 5 children:
- Oriza (Avery) Balcom (1803-1876); married Johnson Balcom
- Abraham Avery (1805-1888); married Mary Moffit
- Fanny Avery (20 May 1809 - 13 Jan 1813)
- Sarah Stevens (Avery) Chapel (1813-1875); married David Chapel
- William Miller Avery (1818-1872); married Harriet Reed
Ashbel Stevens Avery died on 29 March 1829.[1]
