Biography

Mary Avery, born 23 Nov 1764 at Groton, Connecticut, was the second child of William Avery and Mary Dolbeare.

She married 11 Sep 1792 at New London, Connecticut, Simeon Smith (his second wife). They had 3 children:

1. Mary Avery Smith, b. 16 Oct 1794; married Dr. Rowland Sears; d. 26 Aug 1878 at Whitesboro, New York
2. Edwin Smith (25 Jun 1796 - 12 Feb 1798
3. Eliza Smith (1 Nov 1798 - 2 Feb 1899)

Mary (Avery) Smith died 17 Mar 1799, 6 weeks after the death of her infant daughter. Her grave is in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London, New London County, Connecticut, USA ^[1].
