Biography

Ulysses Avery, born 17 Jul 1809 @ Preston, Connecticut, was the second child of Sarah (Crary) Avery (1777-1829) and Robert Stanton Avery (1771-1846).

He married 13 Nov 1848 @ Ledyard, Connecticut, Lucy Ann Williams [b. 31 Jan 1828 @ Ledyard, daughter of Seth & Lucy Ann (Noyes) Williams]. They had 5 children:

  1. Noyes Williams Avery, b. 26 Jan 1850
  2. Arthur Ulysses Avery, b. 17 Jan 1853; unmarried; d. 3 Jul 1880
  3. Lucy Althaea Avery, b. 19 Jun 1856
  4. Harriette Lillian Avery, b. 3 Jul 1859
  5. Josie Emma (Avery) Wheeler (1864-1918), b. 4 Sep 1864; married Fernando Wheeler

Ulysses Avery was engaged in agriculture.

Ulysses Avery died 29 Dec 1884 at Preston, Connecticut.
