Biography
John Eglin Avery, born 7 Feb 1819 at Johnstown, New York, was a son of Nancy (Eglin) Avery (1798-1874) and Alanson Avery (abt.1793-1880). In birth order, he probably was their first child.
He married Apr 1874 @ North Oxford, Ontario, Hannah O'Donnell [b. 20 Jun 1844 @ Belfast, Ireland]; they had one child:
- Orin Avery, b. 4 Jan 1875 @ Lexington, Michigan
John Eglin Avery died 24 Mar 1900 at Port Sanilac, Michigan. His grave is in Washington Township Cemetery, Carsonville, Sanilac County, Michigan, USA [1]. Note that the death date of 24 March is supported by the death certificate provided in this reference, as contrasted with the 10 March date published in the Avery genealogy.
