Biography
The daughter of George Avery and Sarah (Harriott) Avery, Imogene was born in Saline in 1887.[1][2][3] Her family later moved to Macon Township, farming there.[4] She married Albert Warner Van Doren (1888-), the son of John Leslie Van Doren and Eleanor E. Boyce, marrying in Macon Township on December 21, 1910.[5] They had two children together:
Albert W. Van Doren, Jr. (1911-)
Doris Alberta Van Doren (1913-2008)
They made their home in Tecumseh, Michigan.[6][7] Imogene passed away at Ypsilanti State Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan, from an obstructed bowel; although, according to the death certificate, she was not a resident of the state psychiatric hospital, she had been diagnosed with involutional melancholia.[8]
