Biography

The son of Joseph Avery (1825-) and Sophia J. Lewis (1835-), William was born in Saline Township in 1858,[citation needed] living there with his family.[1][2][3] His siblings included:

  1. Frederick Avery (1856-)
  2. Wesley Avery (1860-)
  3. Hallie Avery (1868-)

William Avery married Mary (Sage) Avery, marrying in Macon Township, Michigan on March 1, 1888[4]and having two children together. They made their home in Macon Township, farming there.[5][6][7] His wife passed away in 1922; by 1930, William lived with his son, Milan, and his family, who also lived in Macon Township.[8][9]

William Averypassed away in Macon Township at the age of 83[10] and is buried at Ridgeway Cemetery in Ridgeway, Michigan.[11]
