Biography

European Aristocracy
Baudouin Avesnes was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.

Baudouin d'Avesnes, is listed as a son of Jean I d'Avesnes, Comte de Hainaut, and his wife Aleydis van Holland. His name sits in a genealogical chart as second child, between the eldest son, Jean II or Jan II, Count of Hainaut and Holland, born in 1247, and Bouchard, Bishop of Metz, born in 1251, hence Baudouin's birth date of about 1249, though the only date known for sure is that he had to have been born after 1247.

He is mentioned in documents in 1283 and 1299, but not after that date and must have died either in 1299 or perhaps soon after.[1]

Le Carpentier-1 and Avesnes-15 appear to represent the same person because: I can't find that Baudouin Carpentier existed (there were men by this name, but they don't fit) and there is a source for a Baudouin d'Avesnes, though it appears the parentage is flimsy.

Either merge, or disconnect Baudouin Carpentier entirely.
