William, born February 4, 1818 in Heard County, Georgia was the son of William Gordon Awbrey and Elizabeth Chapman. He married Almyra Jane McClendon. At some point, William changed the spelling of his last name to Aubrey.[1]

Aubrey-728 and Awbrey-167 appear to represent the same person because: You were able to create a duplicate because of the spelling of the surname which is a continuing problem as the spelling is used interchangeably by individuals.
