Biography

Henry, born on August 5, 1848, is the son of Philip Awbrey and Frances Fomby. He moved with his parents to Homer, Louisana in 1857 and secured a common school education.[1]

In 1876 he married Elizabeth Keener, daughter of J. F. Keener and wife, Martha Hackney Keener, of Alabama.

Henry was the owner of a 260 acre plantation. They were members of the Missionary Baptist Church and were referred to as being liberal in their contribution to worthy enterprises.[1]

Elizabeth died on May 5, 1933 - Find A Grave: Memorial #46146830 and Henry died on January 14, 1943 - Find A Grave: Memorial #46212352 (Henry's middle name on FAG memorial is misspelled). Both are buried in Mt. Lebanon, Louisiana cemetery.[1]
