Richard Awbrey was born in Wales.
Richard's birth year is estimated to be about 1530 as one son was born in 1561. [1]
Richard of Abercynrig is the son of William Awbrey of Abercynrig by his second wife, Jane Herbert, daughter of Sir Richard Herbert of Cwm-Ystwith and Pencelly (also referred to as Montgomery Castle). [1]
He married Margaret Gunter, daughter of Thomas Gunter of Gileston of an ancient family descended from the original conquerors of South Wales. They had 2 sons: Richard and William,LLD. [1]
He later sold Abercynrig to his cousin Dr. William Aubrey, D.C.L..

The birth date listed needs to be changed. His father died in 1547. I can find no records of his birth. Maybe an about date of 1510 would be closer - father's birth date plus 30 years.
