LAWRENCE COUNTY RECORD – 12-08-1977 Mrs. Jessie Watson, 64, a long time resident of Monett, died at 6:45 a.m., Monday, Nov. 28, at the Lawrence County Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon following a long illness. She was born in Protem, Mo., on June 8, 1913, and moved to Monett in 1939, where she resided until three years ago when she became a resident of the nursing home. Mrs. Watson as an employee of the Gillioz Bank of Monett until the time of her illness and was a former secretary at the First Baptist Church of Monett. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge and past matrons and past patrons. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Clayton Watson, Los Alamos, N.M., and the Rev. Gordon Watson, Mt. Vernon, a daughter, Mrs. Etta Kay Walker, Forsythe, (sic) Mo, and six grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with the Revs. Roy Jarrell and M. E. Fitzpatrick officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Buchanan. Burial was in Monett IOOF Cemetery.
