- Note: b. Nov. 11, 1857, in Pepin, Wis. married May 1, 1895, Lettice J.,daughter of
- Chas. C. and Martha J. (Quiner) Carpenter. She was born May 17, 1864,at
- Stockholm, Wis. He followed school teaching for several years. In1885, with
- his brother Orla B., he purchased the "Pepin Star" and continued its
- publication until 1896. He later established the Maiden Rock News. Hedied
- March 15, 1922.
