Alta, daughter of Charles Axtell and Sarah Prickett, was born on 31 Dec 1858 in New York.^[1][2][3][4]

On 8 Oct 1881, Alta married Frank Sharland in Grand Blanc, Genesee County, Michigan.^[5] The couple had a son who died in infancy.^[1] They later divorced.^[6]

Alta passed away on 6 May 1938 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan^[7], and was buried at Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Genesee County, Michigan.^[8]
