Nancy, daughter of Daniel Axtell and Jane Wellman, was born on 10 May 1813 in Peru, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. ^{[1] [2] [3]} Her parents were George William Loghry and Jane (Wellman) Axtell (1791-1873) they married in 1809 in Belgrade, Maine. ^[4][5][6][7] * Note: ||Peru is in the mountains northwest of Springfield, Massachusetts

Nancy passed away about Mar 1850, possibly in Illinois,^[1]

Death Date: AFT 20 MAR 1855
Place: Beaver Township, Jasper County, Indiana
Note: It had long been held that Nancy passed sometime before 1850, when George William showed up in Indiana married to Esther Peterson. Evidence points out that Nancy was alive in 1855 when she was named as a beneficiary in her father's Last Will and Testament dated March 20, 2855. ^{[10] [11]}
