John was born in 1893. He was the son of John Axton and Jane Bean. John followed in his father's footsteps and was an Army Chaplain. His nickname possibly was Victor as a number of records indicate this rather than his given name of John. His headstone does show he is John Thomas Axton, Jr. He passed away in 1958 and is buried in Arlington Cemetery.
