Biography
Son of Seth Aycock and his wife, Rachael, Robert was born in Clarenden, Camden District, South Carolina in November of 1829. He married twice. He first married Caroline (Shorter) Aycock, of Sumter, around 1866. Together, they had five children:
- Charles Bolden (1867-1940)
- Helen C (1869-1924)
- Theresa A (1871)
- Lillie Ann (1871-1961)
- Emma L (1873-1929)
Caroline passed away in 1885. Second, he married America (Jones) Aycock, of Santee, around 1890, and they had seven children:
- Evelyn Viola (1891-1986)
- Robert James (1893-1975)
- George Jones (1896-1965)
- Mary Maude (1898-1986)
- Seth Dewey (1900-1900)
- Zula Mae (1902-1902)
- Eula Mood (1902-1902)
Robert passed away in 1904 and is buried in Shorter-Aycock Cemetery, Davis Station, Clarendon County, South Carolina.[1] America died in 1910.
