Biography

John Henderson Aycock was born on February 14, 1871, in Shelby County, Tennessee. He was the son of William and Martha (Henderson) Aycock. He married Susan Jane "Jennie" Sedberry on March 22, 1896, in Shelby County. They were farmers and had six children during their marriage. He died on November 12, 1941, in Shelby County, Tennessee, at the age of 70.

John H. Aycock, 71, father of John Aycock, in charge of the Madison County Soil Conservation District and a resident of 322 Hatton, was buried today in Bethuel cemetery, near Kerrville, after services conducted in a Memphis funeral home.

Member of a pioneer Shelby county family and a longtime Millington farm operator, Mr. Aycock died at Baptist Hospital, Memphis, yesterday after a year's illness.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Jennie Sedberry Aycock; two daughters, Mrs. C.A. Davis of Memphis and Mrs. A.B. Cummings of Atlanta; and two other sons, Dr. W.W. Aycock of Memphis and Harvey Aycock of Millington.
