David Aydelotte was a Huguenot.

Biography

David Aydelotte (aka Aydelott) was born about 1610, probably in Mauvoisin, France, probably today's Mauvezin in the Gers departement, old Guyenne province, today's Occitane Region, France.^[1]

He married Marie Sochon, daughter of Pierre Sochon, on January 5, 1632 at the French Church on Threadneedle Street in London. According to the Threadneedle Street church records, "David Aydelott" arrived in Westminster, London from the Province of Guyenne, France, before 28 JUN 1655.^[2]

However, only noted is that David was a shoemaker and was living in Westminster. No indication of from where he immigrated. Note: This reference is the one used in the Aydelotte family genealogy. In the records of the Threadneedle church, I only see baptisms of his children, and the assertion that his father, Jean, was "of Mauvezin."^[3] It is equally possible that, when asked where he was born, David answered "mon voisin" or at my neighbor's, not understanding the intent of the question.

No death information is known for either David or Marie Aydelotte.
