Cecil Ayers lived in Rangiora, Canterbury, New Zealand.

Cecil was born in 1880.

In 1924 he built the Rangiora Maternity Hospital. [1]

Cecil defeated William Arthur Rowse by 3 votes in the 1929 Rangiora mayoral election; but lost to him in the next election in 1931. [1]

Cecil died on the 14 April 1966 age 85 and is buried at Rangiora Methodist Cemetery. [2] His wife Alice is on the same headstone.
