Biography
Robert was born Jan. 12, 1912 in Lee County, VA, likely Rose Hill. He was the son of James and Mollie (Pridemore) Ayers.
He married Elizabeth Queen Johnson on Dec. 23, 1935. They had five daughters. They separated in April 1944, and divorced on April 15, 1946.
He married Virgie Marie Collins on June 16, 1948. They had two daughters.
Robert passed away on Sep. 9, 1981 in Wise County, VA, likely Big Stone Gap. His remains are interred near his wife's at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap.
